TrueNorth Geospatial now supports downloading maps to certain Garmin GPS units.
Map data loaded and displayed in TrueNorth including raster, vector, tiles, and GeoPDFs can be exported as a KML Overlay in a KMZ file and downloaded to GPS units that support this feature. There is no configuration necessary and TrueNorth automates the generation of the images and georeferencing data.
The Garmin units that support custom maps include the following
- Alpha™
- Astro®
- Dakota®
- Colorado®
- Oregon®
- GPSMAP® 62 series
- GPSMAP 78 series
- Edge® 800
- Edge 810
- Edge 1000
- Edge Touring Plus
- Montana®
- Rino®
- eTrex® 20 and 30
- zūmo 590LM
This feature will be available in the Standard Edition of TrueNorth and in TrueNorth Borealis in the next few weeks. Current clients will receive the new functionality through auto-update.
